- Abstract
In bcc metals, by reactions between primary dislocations of type a/2 <111 >, junctions with dislocations of type a <001 > are formed, which are glissile in {110} planes. The core structure of these dislocations in tungsten is studied within the framework of the Peierls model. When the dislocations are in or close to edge orientation, the local displacements acquire some components perpendicular to the Burger vector in order to reduce atomic misfit energy of the core.
