Understanding electron and ion irradiation effects

First-principles modelling and scattering theory combined with precision measurements aids in understanding irradiation effects in materials.

Combining first-principles modelling including the development of time-dependent density functional theory based methods with theoretical descriptions of  scattering and precision measurements of their effects elucidates irradiation effects including atomic displacements, ion implantation and other ion-material interactions.
